![]() ![]() Grave Guard (normal ones) are extremely tough, with good shields. infantry, they smash a formation, and they're even more charge-bonus than cavalry. Overall it’s extremely tedious and difficult to test to an exact level, but I did spend a few hours and I definitely found a few units that work as good as blood knights for cheaper, or better than blood knights at around the same cost.Ĭavalry is the wrong choice. Worth noting that just because one cav can beat another cav in a straight up charge battle, that doesn’t directly correlate to having it be better for infantry hammering, something I also noticed during testing. I think it would almost be impossible to do fair testing on this as setting up an identical and proper hammer and anvil is pretty tricky, something I found out while testing it myself, my overall opinion is there’s probably at least half a dozen cav units that would do a better job for cost, and at least one or two units that would do a better job just strictly stat wise. I’ll admit that blood knights are good, but I still don’t think their the best anti large cav for stats, and I think their actually overpriced in MP compared to likewise units, something I noticed during testing when comparing stats.Īlthough, As far as the OP is concerned none of that really matters, for cost versus stats, blood knights are definitely not the best hammer you could be using. Just did some quick testing I wa surprised There’s actually 8 anti infantry cav units. ![]() but having a very powerful anti-large unit, and a very powerful anti-infantry unit means you can focus your targeting much better. Some might criticise taking a Black Coach instead of just more Blood Knights, but that'd be mistaken - Knights are really good, and worth having. But they rack up an absurd number of kills each battle With a view to using them as 'lynch pins' of my army strategy.Īnd they all work very nicely indeed - they're micro intensive, so you don't want more than 2 units or so in your army. Settra with his magic chariot of doom, and Tomb Kings in general.Incendiary Mage on Ithilmar Chariots (You micro your mages quite a bit anyway, so this isn't anywhere near as it sounds).Sometimes you can line up a unit to charge one, then about turn and charge another. They should always be charging something. blood knights in support of a Black Coach). large" is their hard counter - uou really want 'anti-cavalry cavalry' to support them - but most of the 'anti cavalry' options aren't wasted anyway, because they double as shock cavalry. (Not an issue if you're 'hammer' to an 'anvil' as the OP suggests). Charge defence can be countered by hitting a moving unit, or a flank/rear attack. They're generally tough enough that getting stuck in a melee isn't disaster.'set a waypoint, then select a target to charge' works quite nicely too."J" works very nicely to reposition them.I have since found that whilst they are all micro intensive (you need to keep moving): Like you - I tried 'em a bit, couldn't get them to work, and then gave up.īut what broke me of this was. I have been replaying on a 'chariot fix' having found them to be sucky back when I first tried them. Think we missed one? Give us a Modmail and suggest new Subreddits to add to the lists!
